This semester, we have shifted to look at changes – encouraging conversation around hypothetical policy or events. In a nutshell: Why do women rate their experience in academia lower than men? What changes could improve it? This lunch in particular will be focussing on ideas surrounding child leave and the addition of money to research grants for people who take on extra voluntary responsibilities. We just want to stress that you don’t have to come to the whole lunchtime slot, just drop in when you like. Also, you are welcome to come along and contribute to the discussion if you don’t want the free food (I know it sounds extremely unlikely but sometimes it happens) and the opposite is also true too – you can get some food and choose to chat about something other than the discussion points if you feel like it.
